Croatia has been on our travel list for a long time. I have always had a keen interest in History, particularly Mediaeval, so I couldn't wait to walk the many stunning walkways of Dubrovnik.
We started off on the Eliphiti Island of Lopud for 6 days of exploring and relaxing at LaFodia.
We haven't gone on a 'relaxing' type holiday in a very long time, it was a nice change to just swim, canoe, read books and eat the delicious fresh food on offer.
There are no cars on Lopud island, some locals have started up a mini 'taxi-service' with golf carts but it is much more pleasant and rewarding to walk across the island. It took us only around 30 minutes to walk from the back of our hotel to the opposite side of the island at Sunj Beach.
Paddling around the beautiful came waters of Lopud Harbour.
Lopud Harbour ending with the beautiful Franciscan Monastery (1483 AD).
Lopud is very well looked after, filled with local artisans and has delicious cuisine.
